KRISTIN: I love the chemistry you two have. You come off as very fun and carefree and dedicated to your craft. How did the two of you become a duo?

HONEY AND JUDE: Thanks for noticing! We think of ourselves as a little bit quirky and a whole lot of fun, and it’s awesome to know that comes off to our friends and fans. We began singing together about 4 years ago and have done duet stuff off and on since then. Last year, we decided to take a chance and see what it would be like to have a duo career rather than two separate solo careers. So far, it has been great.

KRISTIN: You have a brand new single out called “Weirdos and Freaks”. What made this song stand out as the next single?

HONEY AND JUDE: We really wanted to be able to do something that had more meaning than just another standard pop song. With the national focus on bullying prevention at this time of year, we felt like it was perfect timing to take a stand for an issue that means a lot to us. We think the song’s anti-bullying message is an important one for our fans to hear, so they know they are not alone and they can overcome the negative effects of bullying in our society.

KRISITN: What has the reaction from your fans been on this new release?

HONEY AND JUDE: From the very first time we played “Weirdos and Freaks” live, our fans loved it! It quickly became a favorite at our shows, and the release of the single has been received equally well. It’s always fun to see our friends and fans posting snaps on Snapchat of themselves rocking out to it in the car. We’ve seen some great responses on Instagram as well of people letting us know that they stand with us in the fight against bullying.

KRISTIN: How do you think your music has changed and/or grown from your first EP Summer Fling: Don’t Mean A Thing?

HONEY AND JUDE: Some things have changed since our EP came out and some things haven’t changed. We wanted to create a little bit of an edgier sound for “Weirdos and Freaks” to match the dynamic of the lyrics and the meaning behind the song. What hasn’t changed is the over-the-top anthemic fun quality the songs have. We love our sound and are continuing to work to mold it and allow for it to grow.

KRISTIN: With “Weirdos and Freaks” out, what do we expect next from you? Is this song going to be part of a new EP or album?

HONEY AND JUDE: We are planning a new single for the new year! We haven’t said much else about it yet because it’s a secret, but we are really excited to be releasing new music. We continue to write lots of music and, in the mean time, we are continuing to release new covers on Youtube almost every week! We have some gigs and local appearances planned as well, so there are lots of opportunities to get your Honey and Jude fill between now and the new year!

KRISTIN: Do you have any live shows coming up that fans can check you out at?

HONEY AND JUDE: We are playing at Genghis Cohen in Los Angeles on Tuesday, November 15 and have some holiday appearances coming up. You can find out more about our upcoming shows at our website www.honeyandjudemusic.com

KRISTN: You seem to have found your calling in life. What do you think you would be doing if you weren’t making music?

HONEY AND JUDE: That is an excellent question! If Jude weren’t a musician, his other possible careers would be hair model, UFOlogist, or Indiana Jones. Honey’s possible career choices would be hot sauce taste tester, one of the cast members that plays Ariel at Disneyland, or an actress in the next High School Musical.

KRISTIN: Breaking into the music scene is very hard, especially in LA. What would you say to all your fans who have helped you get as far as you are now?

HONEY AND JUDE: Thank you so much for all your support, but our work isn’t done yet! We are so excited to know you are along with us for the ride and are grateful for your passion and excitement for our music. Let’s keep moving forward!

KRISTIN: Where can we keep up with your journey online? Website/Twitter/Instagram?

HONEY AND JUDE: You can keep with us on our website at www.honeyandjudemusic.com, at our Instagram, and Twitter. Also, watch our weekly Youtube covers.
