5 Reasons We Absolutely LOVE The Walking Dead

AMC hit the television jackpot when they brought ‘The Walking Dead’ to the small screen. It was an instant hit and people swarm to their TV’s every Sunday night to watch. Who is going to die this week? Which kill is going to be the goriest?

You’d think we were all loving being terrified, which we ARE, but there are so many other reasons we absolutely love The Walking Dead. So here is my list of 5 top reasons I could not go without The Walking Dead… so AMC, don’t think about canceling it anytime soon!

1. The Cast

Now I know that there are a lot of shows with phenomenal casts… but The Walking Dead takes the cake! Andrew Lincoln, Emily Kinney, Lauren Cohan, Melissa McBride, Chandler Riggs, Steven Yeun, etc. There are too many to name all of them, but you get my point. We have all different walks of life come together and make this incredible show come to life. Hats off to AMC for their excellent casting!

2. Daryl Dixon

Need I say more? OK, I will! Daryl Dixon is by far a fan favorite that has broken out among the group. While we love everyone (for the most part) Daryl has  a way to weasle into our hearts. He’s pretty to look at (that Norman Reedus is gorgeous), he has a soft side (Think Beth!), and he will take any walker or bad guy down with the flick of a finger on the crossbow! What is not to love! *Swoon*

3. They find time for romance!

Even in all the chaos, killing, and horribleness that is the environment they live in, the writers find a way to nudge a little hope into the mix. One of our favorite love connections is Glenn (Steven Yeun) and Maggie (Lauren Cohan). These two have overcome everything! They’ve lived through buildings burning down, walker infestations, and being split up for a long period of time with no idea if the other was alive! So many different obstacles and they have held fast! We love them and hopefully there will come a point we get to watch a little TWD wedding!

4. The perfect walker makeup!

I have seen a lot of different “Zombie” shows and movies and nobody has done a zombie right the way AMC has done the walkers. They are beyond perfect. Some of them are grotesque with missing jaws and body parts… sometimes missing bodies, while others just look dead and rotting. I’m not sure how much schooling or practice was involved to be THIS good at makeup, but props to those! You’re doing great!

5. The creepy children!

Anyone living in this world is bound to be messed up! But some of the kids have taken it to the extreme! Let’s take Lizzy for example. The girl went off the deep end. Let’s not beat around the bush. Playing tag with a walker, killing her sister and thinking she was going to come back the same, and thinking of killing Judith. The girl was wack! Everyone knew it! And yet it made for a great storyline.
