REVIEW:
It isn’t very often that I give an entire series 5 stars but then again, it isn’t very often where I feel the books just get better and better as they go. The Lost Hearts series is something I found accidentally. I had never heard of it and that makes me want to write this review even more. It should be talked about more.
In Daughter of No Worlds, we meet Tisaanah and are immediately thrown into her world. She is a slave, working toward paying a debt to her master who has lorded over her since she was a little girl. I also met Maxantarius Farlione, who I immediately loved as much as I loved Tisaanah. The two come together in a sort of forced proximity situation…but a delicate one.
The characters are written so beautifully that I can barely put it into words. The entire story feels true, and natural, despite the unique magic system that the author uses. Their relationship builds so easily that I didn’t even realize they were falling in love until they did.
Over the three books, there is a story of past, present, and a hope for the future. There is war, love, loss, and more heartbreak than I care to mention without giving away too much. The sheer determination of all characters gives a glimpse into the gray areas, allowing the reader to see why certain decisions were made. These books are a journey of healing but they force you to see all the ugliness in this world along the way.
I have zero negatives with this book. I wish I could go back and experience it all over again for the first time…but you can! I hope you give them a try and maybe love them as much as I do.
All three of these books are available on Kindle Unlimited for members to read. There is a prequel titled Ashen Son as well, though I haven’t read that one yet and it won’t be included in my review.
