The Lakeview Series has been one I have been following for years. Breathe was just the next book in the series and it was just as good.
I love the series because the characters are interesting and multi-layered. I loved being able to read along as they grew up. We started when these kids were in school and now one is getting married! With Breathe, I liked how we were more following Halle and North who were not the main focus every time in other novels. I liked seeing their story evolve and author Campbell really built on their characters. Halle’s character really showed the growth I like to read about in characters and is a great coming of age story.
I have nothing negative to say about this story. I wish there was more of the grandfather, but I wasn’t disappointed with what I did get. Campbell’s writing is easy to read and feels good along the way. It’s a true joy to read her novels and anyone who loves a good YA Fiction/Teen novel should pick up this entire series.
