REVIEW:

**A copy of this book was provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review.**

When the request to read a paranormal romance series came across my email, I jumped at the chance to review them.  I have read the Twilight series and the Sookie Stackhouse series, so I am no stranger to the paranormal romance genre.  While I have only just finished the first book in the series, I am excited to read the rest.

Lexia is a normal teenager: friends, parties, shopping and school.  That all begins to change when she is chased down and attacked by vampires.  Suddenly she rips them limb from limb and kills them all.  She doesn’t know how it happened but it did.  When she races home she notices that her eyes have changed.  She hopes no one will notice.  What she doesn’t realize is someone was watching her as she killed the vampires.  She soon gets back to her normal routine: work and school.  While she is at work a very hot guy comes in and shakes her to her core.  There is just something about him that draws her in.  She soon forgets about it and carries on.  Except he keeps popping up.  She learns his name is Lincoln.  As things progress they begin to flirt with one another.  A relationship begins to form.  In a horrible twist of events, Lexia’s father is murdered in cold blood and Lincoln is the one to rescue her.  Will Lincoln be able to answer her questions about her eyes?  Will Lexia seek revenge for her father’s death and will she succeed?

I absolutely devoured this book.  I read it in no time flat. While to me it had a slight Twilight undertone, it was nothing like that series.  The main character is a “pull herself up by her bootstraps” type character.  No matter what happens to her in this book she always manages to see her way through and to get on with her life, even at her young age. Lincoln is a dark and brooding sort.  Once you find out his secret you can sort of understand why. The characters have depth and the supporting characters are strong and well written.  I immediately started the second book after finishing this one and hope to finish it soon.
