SYNOPSIS: (From Goodreads)

One minute down-on-his-luck rancher Austin Hubbard slept soundly, the next, a sassy spitfire dumped a pitcher of water on his head and woke him up—in more ways than one. Hired to help him rebuild his ranch, Sonya Tucker ends up helping him put the tattered pieces of his life back together. The capable, all-business accountant is on a mission to get the ranch up and running, but can he convince the temptingly beautiful woman to take a chance on him?

Sonya was dismayed that Austin had lost it all: money, family, respectability. Things she—who’d been raised by her mother at Nevada’s notorious brothel Wild Rose Ranch—only dreamed about. But working with the long, lean cowboy shows her that Austin is honorable to his core. Together they slowly grow to see what the love between them might bring.

But then Austin’s powder keg of a family feud explodes, exposing long-buried secrets, and threatening their new-found love…

REVIEW:

**A copy of this book was provided by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.**

I recently got a request email filled with yummy romances.  It was so hard to choose but I narrowed it down to two.  This one and one more that I will be doing at a later date.  While I have never read anything by this author I did know her name as a popular romance author.  I figured what better way to read some of her work.   I started reading it the day I got it.

I wasn’t sure what I was getting myself into really, with a title like Restless Rancher.  I was rather excited to read it.  I knew right from the beginning that this wouldn’t be like your normal romances.  This was a man who was a drunkard.  He came from something then his dad cut him off and he ended up living on his dead grandfather’s porch because the house was filled to the brim with junk.  His girlfriend left him once the cash ended.  I knew for sure it would be rollicking fun when Sonya dumped a pitcher of water on his head to wake him up.  His story isn’t something I normally find in romance books.  Lots of times they are squeaky clean and everything is sunshine and roses and I loved that his life wasn’t like that.  He came from something, lost everything and then pulled himself up and became something again.

The storyline with Sonya was almost the same.  She was found on the streets of Las Vegas panhandling while her mother sold her body for money.  She was found by Big Momma, who ran a legal brothel in the neighboring county.  She was raised around those women.  She became something, she was a forensic accountant.  She left her job when she didn’t get the job she wanted and her sister offered her something better.  I loved that she came from that background.  It’s not something that you don’t see every day.  I enjoyed this book so much.  I wanted to read more about their story.  I didn’t want it to end.  I may have to read other books in the series to see if their storyline continues at all.  I will be keeping an eye out for more books by this author in the future.
