This summer, romance blooms again in Wildstone!

After a difficult few years, Tilly Adams is ready for life to start going right. Though she has a case of first day nerves teaching art at the local community college, she knows it isn’t anything a few snuggles from her rescue puppy won’t cure. Until she sees Dylan Scott again, her one-time BFF and first love sitting in the front row.

Dylan knows he should’ve left well enough alone, but when he sees Tilly living her dream, he can’t help but make contact. Ten years ago, he left Wildstone and everything in it behind, including Tilly. He had his reasons, but now he wants her back in his life, anyway he can get her.

When Tilly agrees to design the logo for Dylan’s new helicopter touring company, it’s business only…until she finds herself falling into his arms once again. Can she possibly open her heart back up to the only man who’s ever broken it? But soon they’re both realizing the truth – love always deserves a second chance.

REVIEW:

**A copy of the this book was provided by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.**

I was tickled pink when the publisher asked me to review another one of Jill Shalvis’ books. I loved the last book I reviewed by her, About that Kiss. I couldn’t wait to start the newest installment, in the form of a novella, of the Wildstone series.

For full disclosure, I have not read the first book in this series, so I am not able to talk about what happened in book one. While some of the events did leave me confused, the context clues did allow me to figure it out for the most part. The story follows Tilly, who has a job a few days a week teaching graphic design at the local community college. She is totally caught off guard when, on her first day of school, a man from her past, Dylan, is sitting in the front seat. Dylan was once her best friend and her boyfriend. That is until he left and never came back. Tilly was heartbroken and devastated. Tilly wants nothing to do with him. Dylan is back in town and is in the process of opening a helicopter tour business. He wants Tilly to do the design for the new business. Will Tilly be able to forgive and understand why he left? Will Dylan be able to show her how he feels and be able to push his macho man act aside and tell her the real reason he left?

This book may only be 143 pages but it is a well-written story and will leave you wanting more. At least it left me wanting more. I didn’t want it to end. The author shines a light on the subject of childhood abuse by a parent, something you normally don’t find in a romance. The characters are relatable. They all do things at some point that makes them feel more than just a character. Tilly gets played by her dog, Leo. He pretends he is sick just so she will spend more time with him. Dylan has a back history of abuse from his father. His work in the military which gave him some life skills that he uses to this day. I am looking forward to reading the next book in the series later on, and will definitely be picking up the first book so I know what is going on.
