SYNOPSIS: (From Goodreads)

Trouble is haunting Cassidy Blake . . . even more than usual.

She (plus her ghost best friend, Jacob, of course) are in Paris, where Cass’s parents are filming their TV show about the world’s most haunted cities. Sure, it’s fun eating croissants and seeing the Eiffel Tower, but there’s true ghostly danger lurking beneath Paris, in the creepy underground Catacombs.

When Cass accidentally awakens a frighteningly strong spirit, she must rely on her still-growing skills as a ghosthunter — and turn to friends both old and new to help her unravel a mystery. But time is running out, and the spirit is only growing stronger.

And if Cass fails, the force she’s unleashed could haunt the city forever.

REVIEW:

When I saw that Victoria Schwab had another book out in the Cassidy Blake series I added it to my Amazin wish list to watch the price.  I even gave the title to some of my family as a Christmas present idea.  As Christmas came and went and it was still on my wish list, I decided to treat myself to it along with several other titles that I had been price watching.  I couldn’t wait for it to come in the mail.

Cassidy and Jacob are back at it again.  Hunting down ghosts, Jacob excluded and sending them back off to where they belong which is not in this world.  Except things go haywire while they are in Paris filming Cassidy’s parents show.  Cassidy has a poltergeist that has basically attached himself to her.  She needs to send him back before he wreaks havoc on the City of Light.  OMG, this book was so good.  I basically devoured it in two days.  I loved the way the author basically picked right off where Cassidy left off.  I felt like I was just turning a page from the last book.  I didn’t need a refresher to remember who each character was and what they were doing.

In this book, we finally, finally get Jacob’s story.  He finally feels like he can tell Cassidy his story as to how he died.  I have waited for basically two whole books for that.  I had always wondered what it would be.  The way the author wrote the Catacombs and Cemeteries literally gave me the creeps.  I know she was going for that but since the book is geared towards young adults and I am a full-grown adult I didn’t think that it would have that effect on me. I thought the fact that the parents are still some of the worst ghost hunters around.  They still don’t believe Cassidy when she says that her best friend is a ghost.  However, I will admit that I probably would watch their TV if it was actually something on TV.  Historical mixed with ghost stories not like some of the shows on TV now where I roll my eyes so hard I can hear it. With that being said I can’t wait for her next book in the series I have already added it to my Goodreads to-be-read list and have checked Netgalley to see if the ARC is available (spoiler—it’s not).
