SYNOPSIS: (From Goodreads):

The greatest risk is disguised in trouble.

Jade Brennan is living with a family curse. If she falls in love, it will end in heartbreak. Because of this, she’s not taking any chances, and she’s learned to protect her heart.

Nate Miller leads a double life. In one, he’s a major rock star with a huge fan base. In order to have a semi-normal life, he wears a disguise when he’s in his rock persona. Nate doesn’t necessarily love the music his band plays, but he followed in his father’s footsteps, vowing to keep his memory alive after he died. In Nate’s other life, he’s an everyday guy temporarily teaching music lessons at the primary school where Jade is a teacher.

When Jade accidentally discovers what Nate’s hiding, she promises to keep his secret. If the truth about his identity was revealed, his career would be ruined.

As they work closely together, sparks fly between them. Because of Jade’s family curse and Nate’s grueling touring schedule, they know a relationship will never work, but a casual fling is perfect. But the more time they spend together, feelings grow stronger and things become more than just casual.

Can they overcome the obstacles that stand in the way of a relationship, or will family curses and obligations keep them apart?

REVIEW:

**A copy of this book was provided by the publisher in exchange for an honest review.**

Roughly a year ago I read Chasing Trouble by the same author and absolutely loved it.  The author recently emailed me asking if I would like to read her next book.  I answered with a hearty yes.  I couldn’t wait to read it.

I knew the second I started this book that it wouldn’t disappoint me.  Jade is at a rock and roll concert with her cousin Liz.  They manage to get a backstage invite to meet the band.  Jade gets lost and ends up meeting the band’s frontman Nathan in a dark room.  Somehow her fingers get tangled in his hair and she pulls his WIG clean off!!   I literally laughed out loud.  It was hilarious.  As I continued reading I got lost in their story.  The up’s and downs of the relationship and Jade’s family who is cursed when it comes to romance.  Jade seems to think that her family was cursed by a witch in medieval times.  Nate goes along with it since he will be leaving soon to go back on tour with his rock band in America and it helps them treat the romance as a temporary fling.

I really didn’t want the book to end.  I wanted to keep reading Jade and Nathan’s story.  I loved how feisty Jade was.  She had that fiery temper to go along with her red hair.  Nathan’s inner turmoil between him playing music he loves versus the music that he plays to keep his dad’s memory alive is believable.  I thought that what happened with Jade going on a small leave of absence when all the stuff hit the fan about her being seen in the background of an interview that Nate was giving as his alter-ego was a bit much.  It wasn’t her fault and if people really knew they were the same person maybe they wouldn’t be in an uproar.  I just wanted to reach through the book and give them a good shake.  I have already purchased another one of her books on Amazon and will definitely be reading any of the other ones that she comes out with.  Her books are fun and lighthearted and the romance is steamy.
